Through the Russia/Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Conflict Prevention Pool strategy, DFID is supporting projects underpinning the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution process. Consortium Initiative, which draws together three different NGOs, implements a four-year £3.22m project which aims to improve understanding of and sensitivity to the conflict among the Armenian and Azeri societies, and promote a dialogue between ordinary Armenians and Azeris to engage in and contribute to conflict resolution in the South Caucasus.
