Plane crash in Iran: The Queen and the Foreign Secretary send their condolences (17/07/2009)
Her Majesty The Queen has sent her condolences in connection with the crash of the plane in Iran on July 15 to President Sarkisian.
"I was saddened to hear of the crash of Caspian Airlines flight 7908. I would like to send my heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of those who were on board. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time".
The UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband also spoke on this occasion. In particular, he said:
"I was sorry to learn of the tragic crash of the Caspian Airline flight on July 15. My thoughts and sympathies are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives."
Tu-154 passenger plane of the Caspian Airlines Company, which carried out Tehran-Yerevan flight, crashed on July 15 in Iran. All 153 passengers and 15 crewmembers died.There were 36 Armenians on board, five of which (tree passengers and two crewmembers) were citizens of Armenia.
