Embassy projects

The British Embassy organises ad hoc briefings for all organisations wishing to apply for funding. A successful bid must:

  • Be relevant to at least one of the Embassy's priority areas
  • Address a justified need
  • Have a creative and innovative focus
  • Set clear, measurable and realistic objectives
  • Explain how the effects of the project can be sustained
  • Suggest a justified budget and defined timeframe

You can send all project-related queries at:

In 2010/2011 the British Embassy Yerevan funded a number of small and big projects in Armenia in the following priority areas.

  • Conflict Transformation
  • Good Governance/Human Rights
  • European Integration

For the current year we utilise two UK Government funds:

1. Bilaterial Programme Budget - This is a small grant scheme to fund small scale projects in the priority areas of the Embassy.

2. Conflict Pool - Conflict Pool is set up to enhance the effectiveness of the UK’s contribution to conflict prevention. Of particular interest are projects in and between Armenia and Azerbaijan addressing the unresolved conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, which will address the civil society, economic, international community and media objectives.
Objectives:

  • to build the capacity of and support civil society’s collective contribution to conflict prevention initiatives at the local and national level
  • to raise awareness and understanding of the economic costs of conflict and benefits of peace and promote micro and macro economic cooperation
  • to build regional media networks and thus reduce the information isolation and false perceptions across the South Caucasus amongst communities divided by conflict
